Lead Applicant: Mary Ruth McDonald

Research Priority: Plant Health & Protection

Program Type: Tier 1

Funding Cycle: 2021/2022

Research Centre: Ontario Crops Research Centre - Bradford

Research Summary: Plant pathogens in the genus Pythium can result in significant destructive diseases and high yield loss in carrots. The specific species of these pathogens is unknown, making effective disease management difficult. This study aims to identify which species of pathogen are present in Ontario carrot fields and if any registered and newly developed fungicides are effective in preventing these diseases, with the outcome to help producers increase yield and production.
