The annual CEPS Undergraduate Poster Session will be an in-person event, with student presentations being judged by volunteer graduate students from 1:00-3:00 pm. Lunch will include pizza, vegetable and fruit platters, dessert platters, and drinks. Griffin Lacey will discuss how hardware accelerators like GPUs support modern AI/ML workloads, comparing different architectures and exploring the role of the software stack and AI platforms. He will also explain how AI/ML infrastructure scales from embedded systems to supercomputers for training LLMs with trillions of parameters. Griffin Lacey received his BEng in Engineering Systems & Computing from the School of Engineering at University of Guelph in 2014. Griffin also earned his MASc in 2016 at UoG and is currently Manager, Solutions Architect at NVIDIA.

This panel is part of the 2024 OVC Graduate Research Symposium, a free event open to the U of G community and the public. Explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can revolutionize research in human and animal health. Celebrate 150 years of chemistry on the University of Guelph campus! On May 1, 1874 the Province of Ontario purchased 480 acres of farmland to create what was then known as the Ontario School of Agriculture. While there was no formal College of Engineering and Physical Sciences as there is now, the topics of chemistry were widely taught in the humble beginnings of what would go on to become the University of Guelph. Join the U of G's Department of Chemistry to celebrate 150 years of chemistry on campus.
