Graduate Students New to Guelph
New (not returning from a leave of absence) eligible students who start in September are automatically enrolled in both the Health and Dental plans approximately 45 days from the start date of the program.
The policy year begins September 1, 2016 and ends August 31, 2017. Even if you are not enrolled for the summer semester (2017), you will still be covered by the plan until August 31, 2017. IMPORTANT: May start students are not automatically assessed or enrolled in the Student Dental Plan. In order to be covered under the Student Dental Plan you must opt in and pay the fee via the Benefit Plan Office, prior to the applicable spring deadline.
(There will be no exceptions or extensions for students who fail to submit their completed forms by the specified deadline.)
Deadline for Dental Plan Opt-Outs and Opt-Ins
Check WebAdvisor (fall term 2016) for dental premium billing before visiting the dentist.
If you previously opted out of dental, e.g. as a U of G undergrad, or are returning from a leave of absence you need to opt back in.
Family coverage does not carry over from previous years and must be completed every year.
