Dr. Emma Allen-Vercoe is an internationally recognized leader in innovative gut microbiome research whose impressive contributions to science are matched by a dynamic and highly effective outreach program. As her record readily attests, she has made a significant impact in educating the public about the gut microbiome and its importance to health. As a gifted and passionate science communicator, Allen-Vercoe is a highly sought-after and popular public speaker. Over the last 4 years alone, of the almost 100 seminars she has given, almost half of these have represented outreach talks to the public or special interest groups, with audiences ranging from elementary school age children, to high school seniors, senior citizens, the general “sciencecurious” population and professional groups. Each presentation that Allen-Vercoe gives is fully tailored to the needs of the group to which she is speaking.
