A team of University of Guelph researchers helped to develop a global web-based food safety toolbox.

Led by Dr. Keith Warriner, a professor in the Department of Food Science in the Ontario Agricultural College, the team also included Dr. Jeff Farber, former director of the Canadian Research Institute for Food Safety based at U of G and current CRIFS director Dr. Lawrence Goodridge.

The toolbox serves as a guide, outlining food safety management practices, including good hygiene practices and hazard analysis, as well as critical control points for keeping food safe all the way along the supply chain from farms to processors to retailers, food service outlets and grocery stores.

The toolbox also includes measures specifically designed for use by farmers, food business operators, inspectors and trainers worldwide to ensure food safety.
