UofG Policy on Intellectual Property

The John F. Wood Centre for Business and Student Enterprise (The Wood Centre) at U of G

The Wood Centre (formerly CBaSE) offers a number of programs and resources for students interested in pursuing entrepreneurial ideas.

The Hub Incubator Program at the Wood Centre

The Hub is the University's student incubator offering U of G students and alumni funding, dedicated office space and access to experienced entrepreneurs. Take your startup to the next level by applying to the Hub.

Guelph-Wellington Business Enterprise Centre – Youth in Business

There are many programs available for youth between the ages 15 and 29. The Guelph-Wellington Business Enterprise Centre supports Youth in Business through consultations, training, and mentoring to educate them on starting a business as a career option.

Innovation Guelph

The local Regional Innovation Centre, Innovation Guelph helps ideas start, grow, and thrive by cultivating entrepreneurs, developing powerful partnerships, and supporting innovative initiatives. Innovation Guelph offers several business support programs to accelerate start-ups and SMEs.

Communication Hub: Digital Media and Mobile Accelerator

Located within The Tannery District downtown Kitchener, is the focal point of knowledge creation within the rising sector - serving as a clubhouse of innovation for digital media companies and entrepreneurs, and driving the creation of new companies and jobs locally, across Waterloo Region and throughout Ontario.

MaRS Discovery District

MaRS is a not-for-profit corporation located downtown Toronto. Its stated goal is to commercialize publicly funded medical research and other technologies with the help of local private enterprises and as such is a public-private partnership.

Who We Are

The Office of Research oversees a $186 million research enterprise across seven colleges, our regional campus at Ridgetown, 15 research centres, and the University of Guelph/Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Agreement. We are committed to supporting the research programs of University of Guelph faculty across all disciplines.
