Special Regulations Governing the Election of Faculty and Graduate Students to Senate for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 Sessions of Senate

1. For the period between the effective date of the dissolution of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the end the 2024-2025 session of Senate (August 31, 2025):
1.1. The faculty elected by and from among the faculty of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences shall continue to collectively represent the successor colleges of College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
1.2. The graduate student elected by and from among the graduate students of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences shall continue to collectively represent the successor colleges of College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
1.3. Section 3.1.(b) of the Regulations Governing the Election of Faculty, Librarians and Staff to Senate, with respect to the ratio of faculty and ex-officio seats on Senate, shall have no force and effect.
1.4. All other Senate policies, regulations and the like shall continue to have force and effect, except where exceptions are necessary to give effect to the foregoing.
2. For the 2025-26 session of Senate (September 1, 2025 - August 31, 2026):
2.1. Each successor college to the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences shall be apportioned faculty seats on Senate according to the formula provided in the Regulations Governing the Election of Faculty, Librarians and Staff to Senate:
2.1.1. Faculty Senators currently elected from College of Engineering and Physical Sciences who will become members of the College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences shall retain their Senate Seats for the terms for which they were originally elected.
2.1.2. Vacant faculty seats apportioned to the College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences shall be filled by a by-election to be called by the University Secretary for a date prior to September 1, 2025.
2.1.3. Faculty Senators currently elected from College of Engineering and Physical Sciences who will become members of the College of Engineering shall be eligible to participate in a by-election to fill faculty seats apportioned to the College of Engineering.
2.1.3.1. Only Faculty Senators currently elected from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences who will become members of the College of Engineering shall be eligible to participate as candidates in the by-election.
2.1.3.2. All faculty within the College of Engineering shall be eligible to vote in the by-election.
2.1.3.3. The by-election shall be called by the University Secretary for a date prior to September 1, 2025.
2.1.4. All other Senate policies, regulations and the like shall continue to have force and effect, except where exceptions are necessary to give effect to the foregoing.
2.2. Section 3.1.(b) of the Regulations Governing the Election of Faculty, Librarians and Staff to Senate, with respect to the ratio of faculty and ex-officio seats on Senate, shall be in force and faculty seats on Senate shall be apportioned accordingly.
2.2.1. By-elections for additional faculty seats on Senate apportioned to the College of Engineering and the College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences, shall occur concurrently with, and according to the same rules as, the by-elections called pursuant to section 2.1.
2.2.2. By-elections for additional faculty seats on Senate apportioned to any other college shall occur during the normal by-election period as provided for in the Regulations Governing the Election of Faculty, Librarians and Staff to Senate.
2.3. Each successor college to the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences shall be apportioned graduate student seats on Senate according to the formula provided in the Regulations Governing the Election of Students to Senate:
