Research in Focus: Photo contest for U of G staff, students and faculty

DEADLINE EXTENDED! The U of G Research in Focus photo contest is an opportunity for U of G faculty, staff and students to showcase their research through photography. New this year, with support from the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance, there is a special $750 prize for photos that focus on agri-food. Share your compelling research stories! Get the full details and submit your photo(s) by November 10 at 11:59 p.m.

Cover Crop Field Day

Plot tour from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Arrive at 2 p.m. for light refreshments and conversation. Have extra time? Stay for 4:30 p.m. pizza and join the Beef@Guelph pasture tour at 5:30 p.m. This event is an OSCIA-recognized Knowledge Sharing Event (KSE) for farmers with On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) projects in the Nitrogen Management or Cover Cropping category.

Beef Pasture Field Day

Pasture Tour from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Arrive at 4:30 p.m. for a pizza meal and mingling. Meet new and familiar faculty, researchers, OMAFRA extension staff, and growers. See pasture research tracking: Grazing fall cover crop mixtures; using rising plate meters to measure forage yield; N fertility on pastures; tracking of greenhouse gas emissions; and more. Have extra time? Come early and join Soils @ Guelph at 2 p.m. for light refreshments followed by a cover crop plot tour at 2:30 p.m.
