Research Summary: Providing people with access to high quality protein in their diet can be met through the production of dry beans - a rich source of plant-based protein that has the capacity to fix atmospheric nitrogen. The proposed work will build the tools to accelerate the selection of superior dry bean varieties with increased seed protein. Results will aid in ensuring a sustainable and competitive agri-food sector in Ontario.
