Human Rights Factfinders & Resource Persons | Call for Applications
Calling all U of G students, faculty, and staff!
Are you interested in human rights, equity, diversity, and inclusion? Are you committed to building a welcoming, safe, and supportive university environment for everyone?
If your answer is yes, then the Office of Diversity and Human Rights needs you. We are seeking applications for the volunteer positions of Human Rights Fact Finders and Resource Persons to assist in the university’s Human Rights and Sexual Violence Policies and Procedures. As per section three of the University's Human Rights Policy and Procedures, "DHR will be responsible for seeking volunteers from the University community to establish a pool of human rights resource persons, facilitators and fact-finders. Volunteers enter a selection process and may be recommended by a sub-committee of the Human Rights Advisory Group (Section 14 of the Policy) to become human rights resource persons, facilitators and fact-finders."
This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to come together to play an important role in fostering an inclusive campus where everyone experiences a sense of belonging.
What Are Factfinders & Resource Persons?
Human Rights and Sexual Violence Fact Finders:
- Assist DHR Human Rights staff in the planning and implementation of fact-findings (i.e. interviewing complainants, respondents, and witnesses) pursuant to the University’s Human Rights Procedures and Sexual Violence Policy and the preparation of fact-finding reports.
Human Rights Resource Persons:
- Provide

All successful applicants will receive comprehensive training in investigative principles, peer support, the Ontario Human Rights Code, and the University's Human Rights and Sexual Violence policies. In addition, successful applicants will recieve a certificate upon completition of the training.
