The KPMG Ideation Challenge (KIC) provides you with the opportunity to interact with your peers as you work together to develop a solution to a real-world business problem.

You’ll bring your innovative ideas to life as you learn from great thinkers, collaborate with students from across the country, develop your business skills and grow your connections within KPMG.
Participant Eligibility

To participate in the KPMG Ideation Challenge, students must be currently enrolled at a Canadian university and either:

In their first to third year of a Business program and planning to pursue a career in a professional services firm
OR

In their first to third year of a STEM program with a focus in coding and developing and planning to pursue a career in a professional services firm

Students will apply individually and be grouped into teams. Teams will work together virtually to bring their ideas to life and leverage technology to develop a solution to a real-world business problem.
Key Dates

Applications opened: December 1, 2020

Applications close: January 10, 2020

Virtual Information Sessions: December 8, 2020 & January 6, 2021

Regional Competition: January 30 - January 31, 2021

National Competition: February 11, 2021

Global Competition: April 12-13, 2021

Regional Competition

At KIC regionals you’ll meet your team virtually, participate in a design thinking workshop and training to help develop your solution and finally, present in front of regional judges for the chance to move on to the national finals.
National Competition

The winning teams from each region will get to compete at our Canadian National finals, where they’ll present their solution virtually to a panel of KPMG leaders.
Global Competition

The winning national team will represent Canada at the global finals. This is an amazing opportunity to meet global KPMG leaders and strengthen your knowledge of what we do digitally at KPMG across the globe. Each country will present their solution/prototype to a panel of global judges to compete for the global title. Each person on the winning global team will each receive a gift card of $1,000 USD.

All applications must be received no later than Sunday January 10th at 11:59pm local time.

Those invited will receive their invitation to participate by January 22nd, 2021.
