THE BROKER is a stock pitch competition for aspiring investment analysts in undergraduate college or university programs.

Participants may enter the competition individually or as a team of up to three.

Teams will have the opportunity to receive coaching and mentorship from finance leaders at Tier I & II sponsors, providing networking and learning opportunities. One winning team will be awarded $500 and have the chance to have a coffee chat with some of the most experienced finance professionals in the country.

All funds will support ground-breaking medical research and life-changing patient care at St. Michael’s Hospital and Providence Healthcare.

ROUND ONE – THE FLASH NOTE

Teams of up to three students will select a publicly traded North American company to analyze from a curated list of healthcare stocks (more details to follow). Teams will submit a one-page investment memo on their choice company on March 1st.

ROUND TWO – THE INVESTMENT DECK

Fifteen teams from Round One will be asked to submit a full-length investment deck (10 slides + appendices) providing more detail on their investment thesis by March 15th. 

FINAL ROUND – THE LIVE PITCH

On March 21st, 2024, the Final Round will be held at RBC’s head office on Bay Street in downtown Toronto.  Three teams from Round Two will prepare a ten-minute presentation to a panel of judges of senior industry professionals and audience members.
