His work has been published in journals including the Journal of Development Economics, The World Bank Economic Review, Rand Journal of Economics, and the European Economic Review

Dr. Kurt Annen is a professor in the Department of Economics and Finance specializing in Political Economy and Economic Development.

His recent paper, "Women Legislators in Africa and Foreign Aid," co-authored with H. A. Asiamah and published in The World Bank Economic Review, investigates the rise in women legislators in Africa and its correlation with foreign aid allocations. The study finds a strong relationship between the share of women legislators and increased aid, conditional on current aid levels. It also explores the impact of democracy on aid distribution, supporting the notion of aid selectivity for gender equality policies in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Annen's research has been widely recognized and published in journals such as the Journal of Development Economics, The World Bank Economic Review, The Rand Journal of Economics, and the European Economic Review. His work significantly contributes to understanding economic policies, the politics related to such policies, and their implications in developing regions.

Dr. Annen's ongoing research and academic contributions continue to influence policy and theoretical understanding, especially regarding gender in economic development and foreign aid allocation.
