Rogier Holtermans is an Assistant Professor of Real Estate Finance at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph. Prior to becoming a faculty member with the real estate group at Guelph he was a Postdoctoral Scholar – Research Associate at the University of Southern California Lusk Center for Real Estate. His research interests include the financial implications of information asymmetry and sustainability in real estate markets. His research papers have been published in Energy Policy, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Economic Geography and Real Estate Economics. Rogier holds a PhD in Finance from Maastricht University, The Netherlands.

REVALUE, Horizon 2020 - European Commission (PI)

  • This European Union (EU) project aims at developing norms and standards that recognize the economic value of energy eciency in affordable and private residential real estate in the EU. Within this project, I was responsible for coordinating the project, and conducting research. Moreover, I was actively involved in developing the project proposal. EUR 261,000 grant (together with Prof. dr. Piet Eichholtz, Dr. Nils Kok and Dr. Andrea Chegut).

BEEM-Up, European Union 7th Framework Program

  • This project analyzes the valuation and uptake of energy efficiency in housing in the European Union (EU). The result of this four-year project with EU-wide partners in construction, innovation and academia was a value analysis of energy efficient housing; a mass European dissemination strategy and 340 retrofitted housing units. Within this project I was responsible for the coordination and the economic analysis. EUR 141,000 grant (together with Prof. dr. Piet Eichholtz, Dr. Nils Kok and Dr. Andrea Chegut).
