2018 United Way Hockey Marathon

The 2018 United Way Hockey Marathon was another great success.  The generous character of those involved, both on and off the ice, helped to create a fun and rewarding event.  Great fellowship and team spirit by all!  This year was the 8th running of the hockey marathon, an event organized by the U of G father-son duo of Rich and Scott Moccia.

Most importantly, the event raised a record $4,500 in support of U of G's campaign for United Way.  In total, the annual event has now raised nearly $24,000.  Every contribution helps support numerous social programs for those children and adults in our community in need. Using hockey to support our local community is the primary goal of this event.  You can't get much more Canadian than that!

Very special thanks to all of the sponsors and volunteers, including:

  • The Department of Athletics and Manager Frank Cain for donating the icetime
  • Gryph’s Lounge Restaurant and Manager Belinda Baker for the great food and support
