Dr. Wei Zhang, a UofG Bioinformatics faculty member who is an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, is part of a team that will use protein engineering technology to find new treatments for COVID-19.
University of Guelph students can join us this week to learn more about graduate studies in Bioinformatics at one of our information sessions:
Tuesday, January 21, 2020 and Wednesday, January 22, 2020
Pizza will be provided!
Hope to see you there!
Bioinformatics faculty member, Dr. Angela Canovas (Department of Animal Biosciences), is one of five early-career researchers awarded 2019 Research Excellence Awards from the University of Guelph.
Her research aims to improve the beef industry through efficient livestock feeding that reduces methane emissions. By identifying pertinent genes, she will help producers breed their herds for more efficient, less emissive cattle.
