Business Phones

Business Phone service is available to faculty and staff at the University of Guelph, including the Ridgetown campus.

Eduroam

Eduroam is a wireless network service that allows members of Canadian educational institutions to securely access the Internet while visiting other member universities by using login credentials from their home institution.

IP Address Management (DHCP)

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network configuration protocol for devices on Internet Protocol (IP) networks. Each device must have a unique IP address on the network and DHCP was established to relieve the administrative burden of assigning and maintaining IP address information for the devices.

IP Address Management (DNS)

A Domain Name Service (DNS) translates queries for domain names, which identify network resources that are meaningful to people, into Internet Protocol (IP) address, which are meaningful to computers. For example, the domain name www.uoguelph.ca translates to the IP address 131.104.93.93

Jabber

Jabber is a feature rich software application (softphone) that allows you to access your University extension and other telephone services from your computer or mobile device. NOTE: Not all Jabber features will be available with the University of Guelph Jabber service.

Remote Secure Access (VPN)

Remote Secure Access (or virtual private network - VPN) allows a connection to the University's network from anywhere with an internet connection.

Residence Internet (ResNet)

ResNet is the residence internet service provided by Computing and Communications Services (CCS).  ResNet network access is available in most residences.

Teleworker Z3

The Cisco Meraki Teleworker Z3 is a router-like device that allows students, faculty, and staff to get access to University resources securely. Access is similar to the existing Cisco AnyConnect VPN service, but without requiring users' computers, laptops, or mobile devices to have VPN software installed and running.
