Exploring Nature Outdoor Learning Program
Our seasonal, month-long, inquiry-based program offers children ages 4 to 8 meaningful opportunities to explore and learn through nature. Led by Registered Early Childhood Educators and Ontario Certified Teachers, the program helps children strengthen their connection with the natural world and foster environmental stewardship.
Families can choose to add freshly prepared plant-based meals and snacks during registration. Alternatively, please provide a litterless lunch and snacks. For food allergies or restrictions, contact outdoor@uoguelph.ca before registering to confirm accommodations

Program Information
The majority of time is spent outdoors, including explorations in the Arboretum, and children must come prepared for all weather conditions. Drop-off runs from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, programming takes place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and pick-up is scheduled between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Complimentary before and after care is included. Registration, through the University of Guelph School of Continuing Studies, opens on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, and spots fill quickly—sometimes within minutes! To prepare, create an account and profile under the Family Login tab for each child, complete the application under the Family Portal tab, and upload a completed Informed Consent Form as either a fillable PDF or scanned image.
It is important to note that registration is first-come, first-served. Holding a session in your cart does not guarantee a spot; payment must be completed to secure your registration. If socioeconomic hardship prevents access to our registration model, email outdoor@uoguelph.ca by January 5, 2026, for alternative options.

Cancellation Policy
You will receive a full refund if cancellation is received at least one month prior to the start date. For Session 1, cancellations must be made by June 1, and for Session 2, by June 29.
