Computer Science PhD Awarded QEII-GSST

Dmitry Gavrilov, a current PhD student in the School of Computer Science, has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST). This prestigious QEII-GSST award was presented to Dmitry for his outstanding academic achievement in his graduate studies.

Dmitry is currently enrolled in the PhD in Computational Sciences, working under the supervision of Dr. Neil Bruce (School of Computer Science) and Dr. Mary Ruth McDonald (Plant Agriculture). With funding from the QEII-GSST award, Dmitry plans to pursue doctoral research in the area of developing novel AI methods suitable for advanced aerial image processing for precision agriculture, forestry, ecological studies and other applications.
