SoCS Speaker Series Inaugural Event With Guest Speaker Nigel Stokes

The School of Computer Science is proud to announce that it will be hosting a presentation and networking event by entrepreneur and venture capitalist Nigel Stokes on Thursday, November 28th from 3-5pm in the Engineering THORN Atrium.

Nigel Stokes is one of Canada's leading entrepreneurs, who has successfully built and directed several companies and has received the Ernst & Young's Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year award. He is the founder of Stokes Venture Capital with a portfolio of approximately 10 active investments in Software and Computer Technology. Currently he sits as Chairman of the Board of Directors of AppZero.

Nigel is also one of the founders of the Creative Destruction Lab whose mission is to "facilitate the creation and growth of massively scalable, technology-based companies from the Canadian University community.”  Mr. Stokes holds an MBA, an M.A.Sc. in System Design Engineering and a B.Sc.
