Welcome Dr. Fatima Hussain!

Fatima Hussain

The students, staff, and faculty of the School of Computer Science would like to welcome Dr. Fatima Hussain. Dr. Hussain joins the school September 1, 2016 as a contractually limited Assistant Professor who will teach CIS*1500 and CIS*3210 this fall, as well as two sections of CIS*2500 and a CIS*4500/CIS*6650 course on the Internet of Things this winter. She received her PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering (Wireless Communications) from Ryerson University in 2015. Her research interests include the Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Renewable Energy, and Wireless Sensor Networks (to name a few). She has also received Level 1 and Level 2 certificates in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, and has taught courses spanning Data Communications, Computer Networks, Internet Architecture, to Wireless Networks. Dr. Hussain is currently working on an NSERC funded industrial project exploring intelligent monitoring systems.
