DENSO North America Foundation Donates $200,000 to Support New Mechatronics Engineering Program
The College of Engineering is pleased to announce a $200,000 gift from the DENSO North America Foundation to support the newly established Mechatronics engineering program. This investment will fund hands-on learning equipment, support outreach initiatives, and help prepare students for careers in advanced robotics, automation, and smart technologies.
The Mechatronics program combines mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering with a strong focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Students gain practical experience designing and developing robotics, automation systems, and AI-powered technologies, with options to specialize in Robotics-Control-AI or Manufacturing-Automation.
“DENSO’s donation helps Guelph Engineering prepare engineers who don’t just adapt to the future of automation and AI, they lead it. DENSO’s partnership empowers our students to transform bold ideas into real-world innovations that improve lives and industries. We are deeply grateful for this commitment to shaping the next generation of global engineering leaders”, says Dean Moncef Nehdi.
We thank the DENSO North America Foundation for their ongoing support and partnership in advancing engineering education and innovation.
