Using your Universal Bus Pass in Winter 2022 will be as easy as tap and go!

Halloween Weekend 2021 Late Night Bus Service

Guelph Transit, through the University of Guelph, is offering additional late night service on Friday October 29, Saturday October 30, and Sunday October 31 for Halloween.

The GSA and CSA ran a joint referendum on the Universal Bus Pass in Fall 2021. The joint referendum passed and therefore the Universal Bus Pass fee will be charged to all University of Guelph main campus students for the Winter 2022 semester, and UPass service will resume January 1, 2022.

The results of the referendum are joint. For transparency, the GSA and CSA individual voting results are presented below.

We recognize that in light of COVID-19, your experience as a graduate student is not what you expected it to be. For some, completing studies in mostly online environments can feel isolating and overwhelming. Add to that, the challenges most of us face navigating the other aspects of our lives during these unprecedented times.

Universal Bus Pass (UPass) Referendum Townhall

Join us at the Bus Pass Referendum Townhall on Thursday, September 30th at 6pm to have all your questions about the Bus Pass answered by your CSA, GSA, and Guelph Transit representatives.

“What is the Universal Bus Pass (UPass)?”

The UPass provides all University of Guelph main campus students with affordable transportation to campus, downtown, and the greater City of Guelph. The UPass is sold at a significantly lower rate than the City of Guelph Post-secondary Semester Bus Pass. The previous UPass contract, which was negotiated for a five-year term, expired on April 30, 2021.

Information and Notice for upcoming UPass Referendum - Fall 2021

The GSA Board of Directors passed a Motion at the July 21, 2021 Board Meeting, approving the UPass Referendum question and timeline for Fall 2021.

Graduate students have the opportunity to run a 'yes' or 'no' campaign.  Please contact the GSA CRO (Chief Returning Officer), gsacro@uoguelph.ca to register a Campaign.
