Marine and Fresh Water Biology Club

The Marine and Freshwater Biology Society is a CBSSC club for students who are fascinated by anything and everything that lives in oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, and ponds. The club is open to students of all majors not just MFB. In our club, we run many events that give members a chance to get to know each other; previous events include Evening nights out, Movie in the Pool, Paint the Cannon, and Scuba in the Pool. Since we are also students, we are able to answer any questions about electives and also give mini presentations based on our volunteer, internship, or field course experiences. We are also a major participant in College Royal, a campus wide open house, where we get to share our love and interest of marine and freshwater with members of the community. It is always a fun event because it involves working with other club members and live marine animals!

If you ever want to stop by, our meetings take place biweekly Thursdays at 5:30 in SCIE 1504 (please note meetings are subject to change, ask to be put on the mailing list to get the most up to date meeting information): Feel free to contact us at mfbs@uoguelph.ca

Wildlife Club

The University of Guelph Wildlife Club (WLC) is a group of likeminded individuals with a passion for all subjects' wildlife and nature, naturally! We welcome members from all disciplines. The WLC promotes outreach and public education through partnership with local organizations such as Sciensational Sssnakes!!, Wild Ontario and the Guelph Field Naturalists. Annually we host many trips and field outings including, but not limited to, camping in Bruce Peninsula National Park, behind the scenes at the Toronto Zoo and a winter weekend camping trip to the Wildlife Research Station, Algonquin, along with a great deal of opportunistic birding, herping and bugging. With a rich history and close knit alumni community the WLC presents no shortage of networking, volunteer, employment and overall learning opportunities.

Club meetings are held weekly on Tuesdays at 17:30 in Science Complex room 2315. Looking forward to being in contact at wildlife@uoguelph.ca
