Join the Arrell Food Institute at the University of Guelph June 5-6th, 2017 for the 3rd Food & Agriculture Business Seminar. The Seminar is a dynamic environment where current and critical issues facing the food supply system are studied and discussed by emerging and established leaders in this sector. Animal welfare, traceability, efficiencies and environmental sustainability will all be discussed and debated during the five different case studies.

Deadline to register: Prud'homme Beer Certification - Level 1 Beer Enthusiast

Open to the Public: This introductory course in beer education is designed for participants interested in furthering their knowledge and interest in beer. The focus will be on brewing ingredients and processes, tasting concepts, pouring and serving concepts (including an introduction to draught systems) and food and beer pairings. The registration deadline is May 24th, 2017.

Spring Academic Open House

Our Spring Academic Open Houses are full day, program-specific events for students who have received an offer of admission to the University of Guelph. Each day is specific to a degree program or grouping of programs and consists of program information sessions, sample lectures, career and co-operative education sessions, and tours of residences, the library, the Athletics Centre and more! Registration and schedules for each day will be provided in Spring 2017.

Research Event: Visiting Speaker Series ft. Shari Eli, University of Toronto

The Visiting Speaker Series is an opportunity for invited researchers and professionals, external to the University of Guelph, to present their research topic(s) to faculty and students. On May 12, the Department of Economics and Finance will welcome Shari Eli from the University of Toronto to speak on "Marrying the Right Man: The Effects of Cash Transfers on the Behavior and Outcomes of Poor Mothers ." Anyone from the University of Guelph is welcome to attend.

On April 13, the Department of Economics and Finance will welcome Michael Beenstock from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to speak on "Spatial econometric analysis of spatial general equilibrium."
