The College of Management and Economics and the Department of Economics presents Dr. Marie Claire Villeval and the Department of Economics presents Dr. Marie Claire Villeval Director & Research Professor Groupe d’Analyse et de Théorie Economique, University of Lyon "From Freakonomics to Neuroeconomics: The role of incentives"

John Maxwell from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, will present "Label Confusion: The Groucho Effect of Uncertain Standards".

On April 2 , CME students Mike Ackland, Kenneth Bache, Lee Fridman, Justin Sythes and Alexandra Skorupski will host the CME Trading Simulation. The competition will provide students with the opportunity to compete in a daylong simulation, while gaining valuable experience, and networking with industry professionals.  

Ronald Wendner from the University of Graz (visiting the University of California, Berkeley) will present "Technical Change and Speed of Convergence: The Role of Learning and Embodiment".

Erin McDonald, Business Development Manager, CGA Ontario will be on campus to meet with students interested in a career as a CGA.

Prof. Adomait's Cocktail Party Economics will be launched on Wednesday, March 30th from 5:30 to 6:50 pm in Rozanski Hall Room 101. Parking is free on campus in the evening. The nature of the launch will be a discussion panel entitled: " The Importance of Being Earnest: Abot Economics, Writing and Academic Publishing" The panelists include Evie Adomait, Rick Maranta, and Gary Bennett a VP for Pearson Publishing with Lee Friedman, an Economics senior student at U of Guelph as moderator.

A benefit concert for the BetterPlanet Project will be held on Saturday, March 26 at Brass Taps, University Centre, Level 2 at 8:00pm (doors open at 7:00pm) Tickets are $15 at the Brass Taps or you can phone order tickets through Ticket Pro: 1-866-908-9090. This concert will feature: USS, The Speakeasies and The Johnston Brothers. During Earth Hour the lights will dim, the candles will come out, and the acoustic set will begin.

Maros Servatka from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, will present "Acts of Commission and the Status Quo in Fairness Games".
