It's hard to believe that we're into November and that soon, the Holiday Season will be upon us. For the 17^th consecutive year, we are pleased to be able to provide support to families in need, through the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington Adopt-A-Family Program.
This year, we have 2 families. The first has a single Mom with 4 children (7-month-, 7-year- and 16-year-old girls, and a 5-year-old boy). The second has 2 parents with 3 boys (9, 12 and 13 years of age).

A new University of Guelph-designed material for surgical mask filters could offer a more breathable and sustainable alternative to traditional surgical masks.

Thanks to all who have already donated to United Way, Please keep the momentum going and, together, we will reach our goal of $20,000. 

While we cannot organize a raffle like we used to do prior to 2020, this year we are having a raffle for 3 prizes:

In first place, there was a tie between the Cox and Shapiro labs;
in second place, we have the Khursigara lab; and
in third place, we have the Merrill lab.
$180 was raised for Adopt-A-Family! 

 

Congratulations to Marc Coppolino, Nina Jones and Jim Uniacke on their success in obtaining 2-year grants from Cancer Research Society, and to Jasmin Lalonde who received a grant from Brain Canada!

One Health is a growing field that seeks to solve health problems at the intersection of animal, human and ecological systems.

Project Serve is a decades-long community engagement event that sees hundreds of U of G students head out into the community to volunteer their time with worthy local service agencies and not-for-profit organizations.

Along with other Canadian landmarks, Johnston Hall will be illuminated orange during the evenings from Sep 27th - Oct 1st. Campus flags will be at half-mast all week to honour the victims and survivors of resdiential schools.
