Congratulations to MCB's Paula Russell who has received this year's President's Award for Exemplary Staff Service in the category of Hidden Hero!

MCB is pleased to announce the good news that Paula Russell has been selected as a recipient of this year's President's Award for Exemplary Staff Service in the category of Hidden Hero. 

This award recognizes Paula’s attributes and her contributions to our Department and the University.  We all appreciate her willingness to provide excellent behind-the scenes-support to our students, faculty, and staff.

MCB graduate students David Sycantha and Danielle Williams receive awards at the Canadian Society of Microbiologists 2017 Conference.

Congratulations to MCB's David Sycantha (Clarke lab) and Danielle Williams (Whitfield lab) who received awards at the Canadian Society of Microbiologists 2017 Conference held in Waterloo, ON (June 19-23, 2017).

Award Details:

Danielle Williams: Terry Beveridge Poster Competition Award.

David Sychantha: Canadian College of Microbiologists Student Symposium Award For Top Student Oral Presentation.

Graduate Awards:

Love Sandhu - Roche Molecular Biochemicals Award of Excellence ($500)

Awarded to a graduate student registered in Molecular and Cellular Biology who has presented the best graduate seminar (MCB*6500/*7500) during the academic year. 

MCB Graduate Students Win Awards at the 2017 Waterloo-Guelph-Laurier Protein Symposium

MCB graduate students won multiple poster awards at the 2017 Waterloo-Guelph-Laurier Protein Symposium. Twenty-one excellent posters and 3 short talks were presented by MCB students and research staff. Congratulations to the award recipients: Liam Doyle (Whitfield lab), Carys Jones (Clarke lab), Sean Liston (Whitfield lab) and Kevin Rea (Akhtar lab). The 3rd conference of this annual event was held on June 5th, 2017 and hosted by the University of Waterloo.
