This year's Dr. Donald Robert Phillips Scholarship seminars by recipients Claire Martin (Jones Lab) and Sara Timpano (Uniacke Lab) will take place on Tuesday, May 9 at 9 am in MacNaughton 113.
These two awards were established in memory of Dr. Donald Robert Phillips, OAC'66, a genetics researcher, and are awarded to graduate students in MCB on the basis of their contributions to research, as evidenced by their published papers, conference presentations, and achievement at the graduate level.

Congratulations to Dr. Jim Uniacke’s Lab!
The Co-op Awards Committee has selected Dr. Jim Uniacke’s Lab from the University of Guelph, Department of Molecular & Cellular Biology as this year’s Guelph Co-op Employer of the Year.
This award will be presented at the Co-op Awards Reception taking place in March, 2017.
Congratulations to Dr. Peter Krell, who was recently awarded a Genome Canada/OGI Project Grant.
The proposal entitled ‘Disruptive Innovations in Genomics (DIG) Phase 1’ is a two-year $234,000 (total) award. Peter, in collaboration with Daniel Doucet from Forestry Canada, will be working on developing an ‘antenna in a box’ system for early detection of invasive insect species.
