CME Students, Acting Dean Playing Role in Brazil Mission

University of Guelph business students and their professor will meet high-ranking government and university officials in Brazil this week.

Prof. Sylvain Charlebois, acting dean of the College of Management and Economics (CME) — along with marketing students Ben Bickers and Maggie Chen, and accounting student Dave Howard — will attend an “Education in Canada” reception Friday in Sao Paulo.

“You can tell they have salespeople on their team.” That was what Martin Stocker, president of Metalumen Manufacturing Inc., a Guelph-based lighting systems company, said about the team of students who made the best business pitch during the Bridges to International Practice Competition on April 2.

February 8 - Team Wins Big At Commerce Games

Let the games begin! This January marked the first time U of G undergraduate commerce students entered Les Jeux du Commerce Central (the commerce games), an interuniversity competition for commerce students that was hosted this year by Carleton University in Ottawa. Despite being the newbies at this event, they brought home some impressive awards. more

January 16 - U of G Honours Coop Excellence!

Co-operative Education and Career Services has announced the winners of the University’s 2011 Co-op Awards.

Fourth-year student Christina Lippa is Co-op Student of the Year in commerce and marketing management.

These awards recognize a range of student achievements, including job and academic performance and contributions to employer, co-operative education and the community at large. Winners receive $500, a certificate and their name on an awards plaque.
