Working Group on Special Action Policy
About the Working Group
The Working Group on the Special Action Policy Review has been established to support the review of the University of Guelph’s Special Action Policy for the Endowment Portfolio.
The Special Action Policy outlines the process by which members of the University community may request that action be taken with respect to investments held in the University’s endowment, including requests that the University consider divestment from a particular category of investment. The purpose of the current review is to consider whether the policy remains clear, sustainable, consistent, and effective in supporting future decision-making.
The Working Group is responsible for reviewing input received through the consultation process and for developing recommendations for possible revisions or renewal of the policy. Its work will support consideration of the policy through the University’sBoard of Governors.
Review Process
The review includes opportunities for members of the University community to provide input in writing, as well as a targeted stakeholder interview process.
Written Submissions
Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to submit written representations as part of the policy review process through a survey. Submissions will be provided to the Working Group for consideration as it develops its report and recommendations.
