Personal Information

Personal information is any recorded information about an identifiable individual, including but not limited to, information relating to race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation or marital status, information relating to the education, medical or employment history of an individual, any identifying number such as student or employee ID, address or telephone numbers, personal opinions or views of individuals, correspondence sent by an individual that is implicitly or explicitly private or confidential in nature, and an individuals name where it appears with other personal information.

If you are seeking access to your own personal information, please identify the type of personal information and/or location of the personal information record in question when completing your information request under FIPPA.

If you believe your personal information has been used in a manner inconsistent with FIPPA or inconsistent with the uses outlined in the Directory of Records or a Notice of Collection, please view our page on Privacy Incidents and Complaints,or contact the Privacy Officer.

A clearly defined request will greatly assist the University to identify the records/personal information sought. And please note that University may contact you about the facts and circumstances of the situation to clarify the access or correction request.
