The London Semester is a long-running tradition at the University of Guelph, with hundreds of UG students living and learning in London since 1974.

Earn credits towards your UG degree while you're spending a semester studying in London - and crossing items off your bucket list:

London Semester Coordinator, Fall 2018

The Semester Abroad Coordinator, a University of Guelph faculty member, supervises all academic activities, teaches two courses, organizes group activities and field trips and provides information and support to students prior to departure and during their time in London.

The Semester Abroad Coordinator for Fall 2018 is Dr. Karen Racine from the Department of History.

London Semester courses

Two courses will be taught by the London Semester Coordinator, Professor Karen Racine of the History Department.  Three additional courses are taught by local instructors. The courses offered will be:

DIVERSITY IN LONDON: MINORITY ETHNICITIES, IMMIGRATION AND INTEGRATION ... visit neighborhoods with strong ethnic identities!

INTRODUCTION TO THE THEATRE IN LONDON ... students will attend 10 performances!

BRITISH ART AND ARCHITECTURE: NATION AND REPRESENTATION .... see the real thing in actual galleries!

ESPIONAGE, WWII AND THE COLD WAR IN LONDON ...… crack codes and follow the footsteps of spies

BRITISH HISTORY ON FILM ... watch good movies and talk about them

Accommodations

Students on the London Semester live in private residence/dormitories with all the amenities, including a kitchen and wi-fi.

London Semester Costs

Students on a semester abroad program pay full-time University of Guelph tuition.  The London Semester fee for Fall 2018 is $7005 and includes shared accommodations, group events and local field trips. Students should also budget for airfare, mandatory travel and emergency health insurance through Guard Me, an up-to-date passport, food, any additional travel or personal expenses, and factor the cost of living and the exchange rate for the UK into their budget.
