The Leadership Call to Action Speaker Series showcases business and social-entrepreneurial leaders whose professional efforts have created social change. Attendees of the Leadership Call to Action event will be asked to commit to a change in their daily lives, no matter how insignificant, that will create social change in their organization or community. This year, the College welcomes global humanitarian, best selling author and founder of War Child, Dr. Samantha Nutt.

HAFA/HFTM Alumni Career Networking Night continues to be a success thanks to the enthusiastic participation from our alumni and students.  Our fantastic Alumni are excited to come back to the School to meet and share their career experiences with our students. The format of the evening will include round table discussions between alumni and students with each table focusing on a specific career area of interest to students.

The HFTM Job Expo connects hundreds of students to over 25 organizations annually. The Expo is open to any student enrolled in an HTM course. Employers will be offering full-time, part-time and/or summer employment.

The Visiting Speaker Series is an opportunity for invited researchers and professionals, external to the University of Guelph, to present their research topic(s) to faculty and students. On January 13, the Department of Economics and Finance will welcome Makram El-Shagi from Henan University to speak about the topic of "Much Ado About Nothing: Sovereign Ratings and Government Bond Yields in the OECD". Anyone from the University of Guelph is welcome to attend.
