CA Information Night

This is an opportunity for you to meet Chartered Accountants at various stages in their careers and learn about how they became CAs; what they do; what they enjoy about their jobs; and the challenges they face. There will also be representatives from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in attendance who can answer questions about the steps you need to take to become a CA. For students who know they want to be a CA, this event will give you a chance to meet some CAs and learn more about how to achieve their goals.

HRM Students/Faculty Luncheon

All first and second year HRM students who are interested in meeting faculty members of your program should attend this luncheon. This is a wonderful opportunity to network! In addition, Heather McManus, an HR Generalist and Corporate Recruiter at Randstad and a representative from HRPA will be in attendance. Research and Ethics presentation

The College of Management and Economics is pleased to host a lunchtime presentation and discussion on "Research and Ethics". Invited guest speaker: Sandra Auld, Director, Research Ethics, Office of Research, University of Guelph. Sandy's presentation will provide an overview of the newly released second edition of the Tri-Council guidelines for ethical research involving humans (TCPS2) and U of G's ethics approval process, followed by an open group discussion and question period. KPMG is gong to be on campus to talk about how you can find your "Path to Becoming a CA". Information that will be shared: - Nature of the CA Program - The CA Examination Process - Networking and Business Etiquette Tips - How to Build a Professional Resume - How to Ace Your Interview The event will have a mix and mingle networking component to speak to our CA representatives from the business industry to learn more about their personal experiences gong through the CA process with KPMG and where they are with their careers.

BioTalent Headlines 2nd Partners in Research Series Colette Rivet, Executive Director, BioTalent Canada will be the keynote speaker at the 2nd Partners in Research series on February 8th. BioTalent Canada is a non-profit, industry-led national organization focused on assisting companies in the Canadian bio-economy, with their human resource and skills development issues. Ms. Rivet has scientific, management and human resource expertise while also having worked in the biotechnology sector.
