Nominations of, and applications from, current University of Guelph tenured faculty are invited for the position of Associate Dean, Academic, CME as an 80% administrative appointment.  It is anticipated that the Associate Dean, Academic will serve a five year term with potential for renewal for an additional five years.

Reporting to the Dean, College of Management and Economics, the Associate Dean, Academic is responsible for achieving the strategic plan priorities outlined in the Integrated Plan by providing strategic leadership in curriculum development and enrolment management in CME’s undergraduate programs. He/she facilitates the exploration and implementation of curricular and pedagogical innovation in support of CME’s commitment to transformational learning. Working with the Departments/School, the Associate Dean, Academic, administers the undergraduate programs in CME and chairs the BComm program committee and its sub-committees.  He/she coordinates the College’s significant contribution to the BBA program at the University of Guelph-Humber. The Associate Dean, Academic is responsible for the maintenance of academic integrity at both undergraduate and graduate levels college-wide. He/she works with counterparts elsewhere on campus, in particular in the BA program and at Guelph-Humber, on similar issues. In addition, the Associate Dean develops and implements business programming opportunities for non-business majors.

The Associate Dean, Academic, joins a senior administrative team that includes Department Chairs, School Director, Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies and the Associate Dean, Executive Programs. The Associate Dean, Academic has immediate administrative support from and responsibility for the Director of The Co-operators Centre for Business and Social Entrepreneurship, the Manager of Academic Programs, the secretary to the Associate Dean and the BComm Program Counselors. The Associate Dean is a member of the CME Dean’s Council, Senate, and acts as the Dean’s designate in the Dean’s absence.

Applications must be received by December 1, 2012 and should include a curriculum vitae, a letter providing a description of the candidate’s previous experiences related to the position and the anticipated challenges and opportunities they see for the role in the next five years, and the names of two referees.
