U of G master's student Courtney Higgins shared her pasture research with BFO's Jaclyn Horenberg at the Ontario Beef Research Centre as part of the organization's Rural Ramble on the Road series.

Watch the video to see Courtney demonstrate the use of a rising plate meter, which is the focus of her research with Dr. Kim Schneider, researcher and professor in the Department of Plant Agriculture.

Using a rising plate meter can help producers make on-farm decisions, such as when to move their animals, or how many to leave on-pasture at a time.

Watch the video on BFO's YouTube channel.

The Ontario Beef Research Centre is owned by the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario and managed by the University of Guelph through the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance.
