Growing Skincare Line Has Proud Roots at U of G, and with the Alliance

A woman-founded skin care company has put Guelph on the map in the competitive global beauty market. Veriphy Skincare was created at the University of Guelph, where researchers discovered PhytoSpherix, a plant-based form of glycogen sustainably derived from Ontario sweetcorn. The U of G lab breakthrough happened in Dr. John Dutcher's physics lab and evolved into a commercially successful biotech brand with distribution in Canada and the U.S. through brands such as Nordstrom, Ulta Beauty, Amazon and select premium spas.
