Friedrich Nietzsche raised potent challenges to traditional view
s about
morality. Many of these challenges took aim at traditional virtues
such
as justice and charity. Is human happiness compatible with a virtuous
nlife, or does the bad conscience and guilt that accompany morality bring

us misery that outweighs its benefits? Nietzsche invites us to reassess
ouridea of the good human life from a perspective that does not take
for gran
ted that virtue is its own reward. In this workshop a team of
internationalNietzsche scholars will help unravel and assess
Nietzsche's claims about v
irtue and the well-lived human life.
