Where are they Wednesday: Eryn Foster

Eryn Foster graduated from the College of Arts with her Masters of Fine Art in 2004, after receiving her BFA from Concordia University in 1997. More recently, Eryn has studied documentary film at Capilano University in Vancouver. For the last 15 years, Eryn has worked as an artist, curator, project organizer, and filmmaker. She also worked as part-time faculty at NSCAD University in Halifax, teaching courses within the divisions of Fine Arts, Foundation Studies and Continuing Education. Not only this, but Eryn was the Program Director for the Yukon School of Visual Arts in Dawson City (2010-2012) and Director of Eyelevel Gallery in Halifax (2005-2009). She has completed residencies at the Banff Centre, Gibraltar Point (Toronto Island), La Cite des Arts in Paris, and spent three months in Athens, Greece creating new work at a collaborative artist-run centre called A-Dash.

Currently, Eryn is a co-director on a documentary film titled Celestial Queer, featuring the work of James MacSwain, Nova Scotia’s iconic queer artist, activist and champion of artist-run culture. The film is produced with support from the Canada Council for the Arts, the National Film Board of Canada, and the Linda Jo Media Arts Foundation.
