CBE researchers from the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management received two awards for their research at the 49th annual Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) International Conference.

The conference brought together thought leaders from industry and academia to provide insights on the future of tourism research. Each year, the conference also presents several TTRA awards that encourage and recognize excellence in the field of travel and tourism research and marketing.

This year, U of G research on eye-tracking research won two awards for Best Visual Paper and Best Graduate Colloquium Paper. Congratulations to graduate students Michael Lever (PhD, Management), Ye (Sandy) Shen (PhD, Management), and Professor Marion Joppe.

Leading up to their success at the TTRA conference, both Lever and Shen were able to gain hands on experience with the eye tracking equipment through the College of Business and Economics Research Assistant (CBE-RA) summer program.

The CBE-RA program is designed to provide students with a meaningful research experience and faculty with research assistance during the summer. The funding comes from the Dean’s Office and is distributed through a competitive application process.

The conference was hosted in Miami, Florida from June 26 to 28.
