U of G delegates at event

Earlier this month, University of Guelph hospitality, food and tourism management students stood out among Canada's top ranked hospitality schools, earning multiple podium finishes at the annual Hospitality and Tourism Case Competition (HTCC).

The annual case competition was hosted at the University of Guelph this year, which invites thirty-six student delegates from Canada’s top ranked hospitality schools: U of G, Ryerson and Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

The case competition included two categories – hospitality and tourism – and challenged students to develop solutions to problems facing real organizations in the hospitality and tourism. Teams then presented their solutions to a panel of industry leaders.

Congratulations to University of Guelph HFTM students on another incredible showing, who earned two first-place and one second-place finishes. The winning teams included:

Tourism Category

  • 1st Place: Alex Owens, Yufeng Yang, Jacqueline Simard (U of G)
  • 2nd Place: Upreet Dhanoa, Anna Welgan, Mandy Tian (U of G)
  • 3rd Place: UQAM

Hospitality Category

  • 1st Place: Cassia Groenenberg, Sahad Kassam, Shruti Kukreja (U of G)
  • 2nd Place: UQAM
  • 3rd Place: Ryerson

Congratulations to all student delegates for an impressive showing.
