India Field School: Innovation and Change in India

A lit up green house in India

Bengalaru (also known as Bangalore ), is a thriving hub for innovations in several fields. Students will learn about social issues in India , as well as on institutional and people’s agency to innovate. Students will learn through visits to stakeholders, case studies, and guest lectures. The group will stay at the Indian Institute of Science, one of India’s top universities.

India offers diverse cultures, institutions, contexts, and resources for learning. It also is home to different pedagogies, thriving democracy, innovation culture and civil society. It is also besieged by many social problems and a variety of stakeholders who are addressing social problems in equally varied ways. Studying these issues in India de-centers western ways of knowing and problem solving and offers a perspective on some of the vexed global issues in the context of unequal international relations.
