To apply for funding to attend a competition or conference, please follow this process:
Step 1: Request funding
Use the online funding request form to apply for the competition or conference of your choice. We have hand-picked a selection of competitions and conferences, but you are free to apply to other events that provide experiential and active learning opportunities. All applications for funding must be submitted by 11:59PM on the 10th day of the month that is prior to the competition date.
Step 2: Await response
Funding grants are communicated by the 15th day of each month to the primary contact, as indicated in the request form. The review committee holds the right to allocate funding as they deem fit. Not all that apply are guaranteed to receive all or any of their request. The amount will be given through reimbursement following the event. Reimbursement is dependent on the submission of all the necessary documentation.
Step 3: Attend event
Student(s) must collect receipts and document all costs. The competition or conference must be attended within four months of receiving approval for funding. Enjoy the event and make the most of this incredible learning opportunity. After the event, you are required to write a 250 word reflection paper.
Step 4: Submit claim
The primary contact is required to submit a single claim form along with receipts and a reflection paper within 14 days of attending the competition or conference. If you attended as a team, each member must submit a reflection paper. The claim form will be cross-referenced with the original grant. A cheque will be issued within three to four weeks.
