Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 Award in Wines (application deadline)

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 in Wines is an entry level qualification providing a straightforward introduction to wine. It is ideal for boosting the confidence of new or inexperienced front line staff in the hospitality and retail sectors.  It is also a great course for those wanting to know the main grape varieties and food and wine matching. THRIVE Thursday Talks: Financial Well-being

Graduate students in the College of Business and Economics are invited to a talk over the lunch-hour that focuses on financial well-being and how graduate students can get a handle on their finances. The talk is the first of 8 THRIVE Thursday Talks that will happen throughout the year. The talk takes place in MINS 207 from 11:45am to 1:00pm and lunch will be provided. THRIVE Thursday Talks is a new program geared toward all CBE graduate students. Each month there will be a one-hour talk over lunch that looks at one of the 8 aspects of wellness.

Prud'homme Beer Certification - Level 1 Beer Enthusiast - Application Deadline

This introductory course in beer education is designed for participants interested in furthering their knowledge and interest in beer. The focus will be on brewing ingredients and processes, tasting concepts, pouring and serving concepts (including an introduction to draught systems) and food and beer pairings. The course starts on October 14th and will run for 4 weeks on Sunday's. The deadline to apply is September 26th.
