Registration deadline: WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits

Please register early.  These popular certifications fill up BEFORE the deadline date. The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits will teach you about the key grape varieties grown around the world, tasting techniques, the different styles of wine produced and the production of spirits and liqueurs.

Want to work at Deloitte? The Distinctly Deloitte event in Toronto is a must-attend event. Space is limited for this exclusive event. Registration Interested students can register for the session on the Deloitte website. The Deloitte Campus team will be managing the registration for the event. Registration for both sessions will close on Friday, August 25, and will be first-come, first-serve.

Hub Incubator Pitch Finals

Join our Centre for Business and Student Enterprise (CBaSE) for this upcoming event on August 23. In a high pressure, competition style pitch, entrepreneurs from the Hub Incubator are challenged to communicate their business value proposition and potential for growth in just a few minutes. The pitchers will discuss the problem they are addressing, their unique solution, their market opportunity, and their company's impact on the world. 

Application Deadline: Accenture Summer Networking Event

Bring your talent and passion to an organization at the forefront of business, innovation, and technology.  Accenture will be hosting a summer networking event on the evening of August 31 in their Accenture Toronto Downtown office. The networking evening will provide an informal setting to learn more about Accenture, the work they do, and an opportunity to meet with some of their consulting professionals.

Harnessing Analytics Symposium

This symposium will explore how marketers can create effective campaigns and new product offerings for their customers by leveraging data and using analytics. Attendees will hear presentations from three University of Guelph researchers with expertise in marketing analytics and consumer insight. Over lunch, attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss challenges they are currently facing using analytics.

Building Canada Lecture Series ft. Professor Kris Inwood

To celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial and Guelph’s 190th anniversary, Guelph Museums launches a unique lecture series to reflect on our collective history and the theme of nation building. Building Canada Lectures, presented in partnership with the University of Guelph, is set for the second Wednesday of each month at 7 PM at Guelph Civic Museum.

SummerFest on the Green

As part of our Canada 150 celebrations, we’re inviting the entire Guelph community to join us for a party on Johnston Green on Sunday, June 25. Title: Shared Service Centre business model- analysis of factors that influence standardisation Please join us on June 21 for a special presentation by visiting doctoral candidate Gustavo Porporato Daher from Universidad Polytechnica de Madrid in Spain.  Abstract Purpose: Shared Service Centres (SSC) are organised in various types of business model. This research aims to understand the factors that shape SSC and the way they influence the level of standardisation, not considering the individual relevance of factors.

College of Business and Economics 10th Anniversary Celebration and Macdonald Hall Open House

In 2016, the University opened the doors to the beautifully newly renovated Macdonald Hall. This historic campus landmark, which housed thousands of female students over 100 years, has been transformed to be the home of the University of Guelph’s College of Business and Economics. Come tour the new building and see how tomorrow’s business leaders are learning in a world class facility while honouring the history and tradition of one of the University’s founding colleges.
