On Wednesday November 23, Theresa Firestone (B.A.Sc. ’78), Senior Vice President, Healthcare Businesses with Shoppers Drug Mart will be speaking to students and faculty during this semester's 5:30 Club at Macdonald Hall. Firestone is responsible for providing overall leadership to several business units within Shoppers Drug Mart including MediSystem Pharmacies, Specialty Health Network, Sanis Health, Pharmaceutical Partnerships and Shoppers Home Healthcare retail outlets.
Department of Management professor Nita Chhinzer has been named one of Canada's Top 25 HR professionals for 2016 by Canadian HR Reporter magazine. The list was compiled by the editors of Canadian HR Reporter after the magazine announced a call to their 35,000 readers across Canada to nominate HR professionals or academics who are engaged in innovative and groundbreaking work in advancement of the HR profession. Destination Canada, the University of Guelph, and the Travel and Tourism Research Association have announced a new two-year research agreement to support tourism researchers. The partnership includes both a funding component and an open tourism research database where University of Guelph researchers can access thousands of raw datasets, including over 52,000,000 data points about travellers’ perceptions of Canada, representing survey results from approximately 118,226 people surveyed from 2007-2013.
The College of Business and Economics officially entered a new era at its Macdonald Hall ribbon cutting ceremony on October 28. The evening celebration recognized the generous contributions made by numerous donors and marked the unveiling of an installation that will remain a permanent fixture in the building’s foyer – now called the Paul MacPherson Marketplace.

Mychal-Ann Hayhoe’s career path has shifted during her time in the PhD in Management program, but one thing has always remained constant - the aspiration to conduct research that can create positive change. Throughout her time in the program, Mychal-Ann has investigated food waste with an end goal of creating strategies for companies to save money and reduce waste.
