University of Guelph’s business school, two academic units renamed

Posted on Tuesday, February 11th, 2014

First a new home and now a new brand. It’s time for a fresh perspective on business at Guelph.

The College of Business and Economics (formerly College of Management and Economics) proudly unveiled new branding today that places a greater emphasis on its distinctive business programs. Also included in this rebrand are new names for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management – now the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management – and Department of Business – which is now the Department of Management.

The new branding features the “Business+” logo that provides a wide range of opportunities to illustrate the depth of experience commerce students can expect, as well as the sustainability and community-focused qualities that set the U of G apart from other schools. The Bachelor of Commerce program has more than 3,000 students in nine majors and its graduate programs have more than 200 master’s and doctoral students.

This announcement comes on the heels of the University’s approval of the transformation of Macdonald Hall, which will eventually become home to the business school.
