CME would like to congratulate Iain Murray on his recent retirement after twenty-seven years of dedicated service to the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Guelph.

Professor Murray has a B. Comm. Hotel and Food Administration and a M.Sc. Consumer Studies from the University of Guelph and a PhD from Kansas State University. He joined the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management faculty in 1985 and has been associated with the School since 1971.

Professor Murray has taught over 16 different courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has twice served as Graduate Coordinator. As a senior faculty member, Murray taught the Introduction to HTM course as well as courses on facilities design and management and on tourism policy.

Murray was also a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for almost a decade prior to working in healthcare for three years. He has extensive experience in institutional foodservice both in Canada and the Middle East, and has combined his background in foodservice with his interest in tourism to conduct research related to issues of rural and culinary tourism.

Professor Murray celebrated his retirement with colleagues Tuesday evening where he was granted Associate Professor Emeritus for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
