January 22: Flex Your Entrepreneurial Muscles

The 2013 Nicol Entrepreneurial Competition challenges entrepreneurial-minded students to develop business plans for innovative products and services.

Who Qualifies: Teams can consist of 1-3 students, the majority of whom must be full-time undergraduates from any faculty or field at the University of Guelph.

The Process: All entering teams will be asked to submit an Executive Summary and participate in a Pitch Competition. Following the Pitch, teams will be invited to submit their full Business Plan. Pitch scores will be combined with faculty reviewer’s scores of business plans to determine the top five teams. Qualifying teams will be notified and will move on to the Final Competition.

Important Dates:

Sunday, February 10th, 2013: Participation Form & Executive Summary Due
Wednesday, February 13th, 2013: Pitch Competition (two minute pitch)
Friday, February 15th, 2013: Full Business Plan Due
Thursday, February 28th, 2013: Final Competition (full business plan presentation)

Prizes: Judges will award cash prizes to the top three teams from the Guelph campus:

• $5,000 for first place
• $2,000 for second
• $1,000 for third
